Your Guide Through Nature and Self

My parents instilled in me a love of doing things in nature.

We would spend Sunday afternoons exploring the woods of southwest Michigan, lifting up logs to look for salamanders, cross country skiing in the Allegan forest, or fishing for perch in Lake Michigan. When I became an adult, I developed a host of ailments that stemmed from anxiety and stress. I sought relief through traditional medicine, nutrition, yoga, meditation, psychotherapy, self-help books, you name it. When COVID forced me to stop my daily routine and work differently, I gained a little more headspace, and a little less rat race. I took my computer outside and spent the next year working under a beautiful Maple tree. I watched it change colors and shed its leaves and I found it host to all matters of life, including me. I felt centered and at peace, more than I had since I was a child.

I found some peace, and want to share it.

Meet Kerri

I created Nourish Nature Connection because what I have experienced in nature is too precious to keep to myself. I decided to train as a forest therapy guide so I would have the tools needed to express what I have been feeling and how I have healed when I spend time in the woods. Now that I have some experience, serving others in this capacity has become my calling.

Nothing is as simple, practical, and satisfying as being in nature. The more Iā€™m in nature and truly noticing what it offers, the longer I crave to stay. If I can give that gift to someone else, of finding inner calm through nature, I will have gained the closest resemblance of peace on earth that I know.

My hobbies include journal writing, discovering new music to add to my playlists, making gluten free desserts, and continuing to learn how to better cope with the challenges that life brings forth. I have raised two children with my partner of seventeen years, and we share our home with a bratty cat named "Sherlock" and a very wild English Springer Spaniel named "Mahi."

This is a Safe Space

Nourish Nature Connection is committed to providing a safe space to everyone regardless of race, sexuality, gender, or religion. We take a trauma informed approach to the practice of Forest Therapy. We acknowledge with gratitude the care of the land of the First Peoples of this region which make it possible for us to enjoy and be sustained by it today. In southwest Michigan, we gather on the land of the Council of the Three Fires ā€“ the Ojibwe, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. We acknowledge the enduring relationship that exists between the People of the Three Fires and this land.
